Inspired by the varnished sandstone formations in the desert, Desert Varnish is a deep reddish brown crelly tinted with black, with subtle accents of tiny and small black glitter, holographic flakies, and a red shifting shimmer. For an extra rock-like look, use a matte topcoat as shown in a few of the product photos.
I already have a polish called Straight Shooter, inspired by the deep red-brown-black patina called "desert varnish" that forms on some sandstone, but wanted to create another one that fit in with this speckly collection. The black glitter doesn't stand out as much on this one as it does on some of the others in this collection, which was intentional to fit with the overall smooth rather than grainy look of varnished rock.
Photos show 2 coats indoors, outdoors in direct sunlight, and outdoors in indirect light, each with glossy and matte topcoat. This collection is *not* designed to be textured. There may be a small amount of texture from glitter that doesn't lay perfectly flat on the nail, but that will smooth out easily with topcoat.
Because this polish needs to be a bit thicker to keep the different glitter suspended, after multiple uses as solvent evaporates it can start to thicken up even further. Adding a few drops of polish thinner will restore the original consistency and make it easier to work with.

My polishes are all vegan, cruelty free and 10-free, and handmade in California.
All full-size bottles are 15 mL. Each bottle includes 2 stainless steel mixer balls.
I try to ship items within a business day or two of receiving the order, however I’m often away from home on weekends and may take a couple extra days to process orders.
Please note I am currently unable to ship to Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico, or military bases due to shipping laws regarding nail polish. I am only able to ship to the 48 contiguous United States.
